William Sell is the publisher of this web site. This web site was founded by his mentor and teacher, John Faragher, William considers literature his second love. His background is philosophy and religion. He retains from his Catholic background a fascination for the spiritual. His former love of church authority was violated by the military engagement in Vietnam where he found the church unable to articulate its own spiritual mission until the political settlement was forced. His preoccupations today include writing and peace activism. He does not consider himself a poet and will not be filling this site with his own material. "My standard of poetry is too high to be proud of the stuff I scribble," he has said. A nurturer, however, he will risk putting new poets on this site. He believes that poetry is too important to be left solely to popularity or authoritative experts.
