Michelle Swan: I am an African American actor living in The Bronx, New York. I have written poetry since my teens. My poetry is like a another journal. It reflects my thoughts, dreams and observations on life. To me they are like short monologues from my life. Enjoy.

I am a Native New Yorker continuing my career as an actress. I graduated from Howard University with a B.A. in English. I have writen poetry since I was fourteen. One day I look forward to publishing a book of my poetry.

Emotions, thoughts and passions flow all around me in my life, I use acting and writing as I way of expression. Words have power. I acknowledge that by linking my pen and paper to my soul. I hope you enjoy my poetry.

Somewhere
On a high cliff
Martin and I
sip sweet wine
we lay on the grass
spot dragons and angels in the clouds
actually consider the lilies of the fields
Suddenly
Carousel horses thunder by
We follow them
down to the sea
We find
Chocolate Easter bunnies
surf by on big blue waves
Grey Dolphins all in a row
sunbathe on the sandy shores
Then the sun begins its Westward Journey
Martin sings Spanish lullabies
I close my eyes
soon we put on our shades
wait for the arrival
of the moon

I am wind
floating through
clouds and sun
dancing on a ripple of water
caressing a sweaty brow of a child
lightly teasing leaves on the grass

Live, Live...I say
what are you waiting for?
suck the sweet and the bitter
together
fly through your dreams and heartaches
as if your life depends on it.
Because it does
each day is a reflection of you
in what you believe in
So change the mirror
break the mirror
just live the life you always wanted to

Sun above
seabreeze tickling me
lay in tall grass
sucking the sweet juice from weeds

Moon
hides her face
in clouds
so as not to see
me
cry in the dark

I surf the sky
searching for the face of the divine
God....Goddess
or both
Till I don't know
where the sky begins
and I end

Moonlight showers our bodies
sheets pushed aside
I can trace the stars
on your back

Indigo blues fade
I splash into Pina Colada dreams
pineapple vanilla flavored kisses
rum scented caresses
by a luscious brown dream man
intoxicating me
